BTN FAQ’s
Q. Do I need to own an instrument to start sessions?
A. While it's ideal to have your own instrument for practice, it’s not a requirement to begin lessons. We have instruments available for use during class, and we can recommend affordable options if you’d like to purchase one.
Q. How much should students practice?
A. It depends on age and skill level. For younger students, we recommend shorter practice sessions and more time enjoying music. As skills grow, consistent practice becomes key, and our instructors will guide students on what to focus on between lessons.
Q. What makes BTN Music Academy different?
A. At BTN Music Academy, we prioritize community, creativity, and fun in every lesson. Our mission is to love and value each student through the pure joy of music. By hosting epic lessons, unforgettable concerts, events, workshops and more, we help build confidence, discipline, and self-expression in each student.
Q. What happens if I miss a session?
A. We understand that things come up! If you need to cancel, we kindly ask for 24-hour notice. We do not offer make-up sessions, however your teacher will create a custom assignment for you so you can progress from home.
Q. What happens if my teacher misses a session?
A.1 (Group) If an instructor needs to miss a 50-minute group session, the missed time will be made up by adding 10 minutes to each of the next five scheduled sessions, making those five sessions 60 minutes long. We love this approach because it allows families to receive the full missed lesson time without having to find another day in an already busy schedule. Simply attend your regularly scheduled class and enjoy a full hour of instruction for the following five sessions.
A.2 (Private) If an instructor misses a private session, the instructor and family will work together to arrange a suitable date and time for a make-up session.
A.3 If the instructor is unable to provide the full make-up time before the end of the teaching year (September–June), the family will receive a full reimbursement for the missed session.
Q. What instruments do you offer?
A. We offer sessions in guitar, drums, voice, piano and song writing. Availability may vary by teacher.
